23 Aug 2011
FOR LITRAK Group, festive season always present the opportunity to show that we care especially with the underprivileged.
This year around, to wrap up the many occasions which are falling in the month of August, it was decided that three major programmes will launched and celebrated under one event, thus the 3 in 1 celebration for 3 consecutive years.
The first event for the day was the launch of ‘Road Safety Template’ where the Director General of Malaysian Highway Authority Dato’ Ir Hj Ismail Md Salleh officiated at the event. Dato’ Ir Hj Ismail was then presented the exclusively in-house design road safety stickers by LITRAK to teachers from schools along Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) and SPRINT’s alignment.
The second part of the programme was prize giving to winners of ‘Merdeka Best Slogan Contest’ launched by SPRINT and LITRAK some two weeks ago. Two categories were conducted, category A for primary student and category B for secondary student. The competition requires students to write a Merdeka slogan in conjunction with 54th National Day and the spirit of 1Malaysia concept in a creative way. A total of RM 9,300.00 in cash was given away to the winners.
The third part of the event was the charity component where 30 children from a charity home, Pusat Jagaan Baitul Hidayah in Puchong received new clothes (baju raya) and ‘duit raya’.
During his speech Ismail said he was happy to see three major programmes packaged into a single event to make it grand and more meaningful. “I think this is a great effort to reaching out to the masses and I am especially touched by the charity component. General public only saw the tolled highways as money collectors when in actual fact there were hundreds of CSR being undertaken by the concessions. This is what we call “giving it back” to the community”.
LITRAK Group Executive Director, Tn Ir. Hj Yusoff in his speech said the charity component of the event is undertaken in collaboration with LITRAK sports club. “In giving we receive happiness and apart from that activities like this give us opportunity to enhance our rapport with the community”.
